Re: Need Carb boots for 650..where?

Hi everyone; as for now i am able to put the rad hose replacement idea on the side; i was able to get 4 used carb isolators for my bike for $20; they are used but better shape than my originals; i am going to try a little experiment; going to boil some water and drop one in it for a while to see if ...

Re: 55 watt fog lights

Thanks for the tips; appreciate it; will give it a go and let you know how it went; may be a week before i have everything hooked back up; going to finish valve adjustment and rigging up another choke cable first. Sorry for late postings here as getting home from my nightshift.

Re: engine cleaners

Serious grime and oil; grease; still a little messy from doing top end, i got off what i could with gas and elbow grease, would like to get in between the cooling fins without having to use an old toothbrush; that's still an option though. Over here in New Brunswick Canada; have heard of people usin...

Re: #3 backfiring through exhaust

Yes you were right; i had the plug wires mixed up; i checked the wiring schematic; pulled the gastank back off where it was just sitting there and bang; she started up; idled level; ran it long enough to burn the carbs dry; never backfired at all; thanks for the tip; now to adjust the valves again w...

I am loking for something that can be sprayed on and rinsed off with water hose; even if its an over night product its ok for me; just want some insite and something that isn't da...

Re: 55 watt fog lights

My lights are both 55 watt each; switch has 3 marks on it; lights which goes to lights of course; power which i tied in to the spare wire in light pot and a ground for the switch as it is illuminated. That was how i wired it in. I really wanted to avoid going directly to the battery but if i have to...

Re: #3 backfiring through exhaust

I had my air box that hook to the back of my carbs loose the other day to use my fingers to work the boots onto the choke side of my carbs, then another hour getting the sleeve seal between the main air box and carb hookup sealed; after i had finally got everything together and the battery box re-in...

#3 backfiring through exhaust

Hi; just put new head gasket in my machine and changed the head; cracked my original. Split one of the carb isolators; for #3 actually. Sealed it up with aviation sealer as a temporary fix...main issue; backfires through exhaust on idle and after i cut throttle back. I set the timing according to th...

Re: 55 watt fog lights

I had a switch wired in with a fusible link; then i tied it into the wire in the pot; it blew out the main light fuse on the bike itself and not the one in the fusible link; basically i wired them in just like i did on my car except i didn't have a relay. Lets see if memory is good; i ran main power...

55 watt fog lights

Hi everyone; this really puzzles me; i had a 83 CM250 Custom before i got my 79 cb650; on the little twin i was able to install halogen fog lights for night driving as i work nightshift; the 250 could handle the load no problem; kept the battery charged and also was able to run the tailights and bra...

Re: Need Carb boots for 650..where?

Hi there as i am new to the forum; i am going to try Buber's solution on my 79 cb650 as well; tore #3 isolator taking off when i did top end gaskets and head swap; got a used head complete for $100 valves and all after i had cracked mine installing the valve cover; damn those little bolts; i put a l...
