I noticed that only 15 sections are online while the contents say there are 20. For me it looks like the sections related to electrics are missing, or it is just again my old browser that hides them? :?

Re: A sad day.

And inside a warm house, with a new blues record in the CD player (Walter Trout & The Radicals), a cup of fresh coffé, and a Kawasaki KZ400 engine rebuild vaiting in the workshop, life isn't too bad really. 8) Yes, tell it to yourself until you really believe it! But here the swimming sea...

come on now, be positive, be positive, be positive... When you finished, you will be a real CB650 expert who can claim that he knows every bolt of his bike! Like that? Just as an orientation for your calculation, I think one can still get a quite fine CB650 for below 2000Euros here. But...

Welcome here! :D
I wonder if there is any special reason to start with this basis. Looks like you will not run out of work the next months. I hope your enthusiasm is sufficient.
You will find support here!

Re: I hate bleeding brakes

Brakes update. AAAAAAGGHHHH!!!!! My only concern is how will the pins "seat" afterwards? or do they just "hang" in the calipers? Is it just the circlip that holds them in? or do they rest inside the caliper somehow. Is there a shoulder inside they sit against - because drilling ...

Re: constricting airbox...individual air filters possible?

Good decision. It's hard/expensive to really beat the stock setup for the CB650. Honda did a quite good job here and also achieved a quite reasonable fuel consumption. :)

Re: Valve Stem Seal process

I think (corrected) torque and hp data make sense. I would guess the guy just wanted to correct for the fact that there is an additonal void ignition every engine turn (against 4strokes with only one coil for the engine like in most cars) but selected factor four instead of two. Consequently you wil...

Re: Valve Stem Seal process

Looks like in your r.p.m. axis there is a factor of two missing, maybe due to wrong setup or some fault of the dyno.
It cannot be correct. Torque seems wrong also as a consequence from that.

Well, I feel quite locked in with a closed helmet. I also avoid cars and public transport or crowded rooms for the same reason. I do not recommend open helmets to anyone who can stand a closed one. But I just can't.

Re: Alternator

I agree with your layer theory. In all cases you have to leave enough space for an air layer, so close-fitting should be avoided (especially for the boots too many sock layers are bad). A kidney belt avoids air being blown through the jacket (and looking like a parachute). Combined with a fur vest b...

Re: Alternator

So heating your hands is really a comfort issue. If your ass is getting cold your core body temperature may be dropping at which time you might want to find a place to warm up. I don't think it is just comfort. To have feeling in your hands is essential to stay upside, especially when the roads are...

Re: Valve Stem Seal process

I do understand that these engines are a bit softer metal than what I am used to dealing with. In fact japanese motorcycles engines are made of butter with traces of some weak hardener. Two spring per each valve? Interesting. Ok. So 16 keepers. No, one spring per valve. I understood "val...

1 - Head gasket (includes oil seals on either end right?) 1 - rocker arm housing gasket/seal 1 - valve cover seal 8 - valve stem seals 8 - valve spring keepers I think you will not need any new additional seals but the head gasket and the two 5x2.5mm O-rings at both ends. O-Rings are usually includ...

Re: Where do these really come from?

Did you ever consider some temporary solution to stay alive? In traffic here riding without rear blinkers would be quite dangerous. Except you are faster than everybody else. Oh, I think I just got your strategy.
