A Honda I have never owned before

Postby oregonjake » Sat Jul 25, 2015 8:35 pm

Here is my first CB650. I have owned many Honda's over the decades and after selling a problematic 1979 CB750 a few weeks ago, while looking for another ride, this bike came up on my local craigslist. I paid a grand for her but felt with the condition and mileage (26K) and where I live (Eugene Oregon) this was a fair price. New tires, chain, the previous oowner was anal retentive and gave me all his receipts of repairs he had done in a large stack, including repair manual and tool kit. The pictures are after a day of cleaning and polishing. Side covers are a bit faded but polishing compound and some wax should help. I am going to take her on an inaugural ride tomorrow (Sunday) with friends, a 100 mile loop in the hills and valleys. I trust she will perform as all Honda's do. I am glad to have found this forum, when I have questions rest assured I will ask for the collective wisdom. Enjoy my baby.

Very nice! I'd say $1K was a pretty good price.

I did not touch the tank, the inside is as clean as a hens tooth. It appears the bike was either garaged or under a carport or something its entire life. Outside of slight fading on the side covers she just needed a good detailing. Will post the results of the ride today when I get home.
