Buying a 1981 cb650

Postby Trevdawg » Sun Feb 05, 2017 10:22 pm

Well my coworker has this bike sitting at his parents house for the past few years and the price has come down and I'm picking it up. He doesn't have interest or time to work on it.

I know I will have to put a new battery in, tune up, new tires, new headlight and taillight. I hope he has the original intake box/filter. After looking on here it seems pod filters are hit/miss, let alone velocity stacks. He has some new parts in a box too. I won't know until I pick it up.

He said there is some rust in the tank, i haven't seen a photo of the inside. There is no gas in it. It is empty.

Let me know what you think/opinions...

No idea... I'm going to pick it up this weekend. Looks like a narrow uncomfy one

Seat feels like a straight up board. Barely any padding

That's the ignition it came with originally.

I'm an idiot.
This is going to be a long journey.

I'm used to points being on the older bikes.
