Hello from new member

Postby Tom » Fri Feb 10, 2017 3:28 am

Hi every one, It's a pleasure to be a member of this site. I'm come from The Czech Republic and I'm proud owner of cb650Z 1978. My goal is to strip down everything on the bike, clean it, fix it, paint it and ride it :D. I'm sure that I'll have a problem during my restoration and I''m also sure that I'll find lot of a useful information here on this site.

Hello Tom,
welcome here. I'm sure it is good to know an czech spoken Member. Maybe you know the czech Enterprise http://www.ignitech.cz?
They sell some useful electrical Parts for our bikes especially the Inductive ignition Units.

But i'm a little sad about that service after buying. I'm still waiting for an answer because of any default setting ignitition curve for the CB650 when i asked them several times last year.

Well, it is not to get you to ask them instead of myself. But maybe you are interested too in such a inductive ignition curve. So this would be an opportunity to come up with that default setting for the CB650 or similar?

What do you think about it?

Hi,

If you want I can ask them. Let me know what is the exact type of ignition that you bought and what information are you looking for. If I understood well you want to know how to setup this ignition to be used on cb650?

Well, i bought an ignition so called SPARKER TCIP4 you can see it here: http://www.ignitech.cz/en/vyrobky/tcip/tcip.htm
The Information that i'm looking for ist a "default setting" for our Honda's CB650.

If there would be any other default setting they are offering that confirms with the CB650 it would be fine. But without any answer it's a little difficult.

Great! Obviously the language opens that door :D .
When i was asking for several times i still got no answer however.

But i'm so sorry. There is still a little Problem. The file Extension is ".7z"!
This Extension does not fit with the Programm "130205a_tcip4A_v88". This Programm belongs to my Sparker TCIP4 Ignition box.

I ca'nt open the file in that Programm.
The Programm works with file extensions like ".ign".

Well, i don't want you to contact ignitec.cz for more and more times. If you do i would be happy and give you my experience after it.
But feel free to do what you want.

greets erhard

Hi,
you have to unzip (unstructured) this file, using 7-zip program. After that you get the right extension.
In case the file is corrupted, I can send you that file again to your email.

good luck

Well, it works. Thank you one more time.

What you can see in the Picture is the ignition curve as a default setting for your bike. That means your Ignition will work exactly this way if the TCIP4 is online.

Next Step would be to program your own curve. That means to change the time of ignition according to the RPM to reach the best performance of your machine. The benefit ist a better control in opposite to the original centrifugal advance Regulator in a mechanical way.

But just watch the Name of the file: The Default setting you've got from ignitech is original meant for a CB750 or CB900. I guess now there is no other one. What do you think?

Hi,

...as you said, I also guess there isn't other setting then this. When I was asking them for more information about the setting. They only asked if my bike is using this ignition spark unit.

The Oki's shown in your pic are the old black ones. The one above is already broken. I would swap them against the red Okis or finally against an digital ignition box from Ignitech.
