Re: My Cafe Racer
Very nice, Cafe racers look better with spoked wheels, are they off the early CB650 Custom?

What size air filter pods did you get?

Welcome to the forum!
I can't answer the question about the pod size, but I can offer a word of caution: The carbs on his bike are PD51A carbs with mechanical slides, whereas your bike should have VB44A CV (vacuum slide) carbs. As the name suggests, the PB51A carb slides are directly (mechanically) controlled by the throttle cables. The vacuum slide carbs you have are controlled by vacuum pressure. Many different factors play into how the slides move. As a result, when you try to use pods on the CV carbs, any turbulence it experiences may cause unpredictable variations in the slide position. This can cause all sorts of stumbling, surging, and bogging down. Sadly, it is not as simple as rejetting. The CV carbs really need the original airbox to keep out the turbulence and allow the slides to move properly.
Many people claim success in using Pods on CV carbs, but I'd highly suggest you get the bike running in tip top shape before you attempt to transition to pods. If not, you will be chasing your tail when trying to diagnose problems.
Good luck!
