CB650Z '81

Postby donzie128 » Fri Aug 06, 2010 9:44 pm

Hi there, I'm new to this forum and like to show you guys my ride. It's a '81 cb650z.
Bought it a couple of weeks ago for a really sweet price, not having any problems so far except an excessive high oil-use.. I think I might check the valveseals and the inside of the cilinders..

Comments are welcome

Greetings from Belgium

Welcome here! :D
Looks good!
If it smokes already at idle and when you release the throttle, it is a hint to valve stem seals. If it starts smoking visibly somewhere between 5000-6000rpm it is rather pistons/rings.
What is your understanding of "excessive high" oil consumption?
Besides exhaust, also rear turn signals are not stock.

Sweet! Always like the way the tail lite looked with the tail section. The US 750F's looked like shit.
Did you clean the tank out?!?!?!?!

actually it only starts smoking when it's hot, when i cold start it it doesn't smoke at all, only when it's warm..
The smoke i'm talking about is really blue, looks like it's oil

exactly, the only thing that's not original are the exhaust and the tail winkers, might change the winkers someday, exhaust stays.. Really sweet sound

I have a old KG rack and removable trunk on mine. Dont know what it would look like on a Z model though. Have pics in my gallery.
