unfortunately without spoke rims

Re: my CB650 Z 1978
Welcome here
Your CB looks really good!
Be aware that the (US) CB650's with spoke wheels only have one (larger) front disk. But from the scenery in the background I would consider that two front disks should be appropriate.

Great looking bike. I would sure like to up grade my US model 79 cb650 to have dual disk. Anybody know if I need a european wheel or will the disk just bolt on to the
stock US wheel. Also how hard would it be to get a right fork leg with the caliaper mounts on them?

Re: my CB650 Z 1978
Hi Chuck,
although I guess I cannot really help, I try to summarize a bit how the situations looks for me:
The double disks are not just two single disks, thickness is definitively different and diameter probably also. But as you have the comstars, at least the holes for a second disk are available. I remember there were aftermarket second disk and caliper for CB400 and CB750 (and others) where the second caliper was just fixed on the original fork with a special holder. No idea whether one of these could fit a CB650. Be aware that the master cylinder may have to be changed then also.
The European Z-Model had the silver comstars, if you need or want black comstars you need a RC05 front wheel with a different disk diameter than the Z-model. I do not know whether caliper holders are equal, but the RC05 forks are 5cm longer. I would guess you could fix the smaller Z-model disks on black comstars (but then it should probably also just work for yours) and use a Z-model fork and brake. I think the fork bottom part of the Z-model looked a bit different however. In case caliper holders require this, maybe one can disassemble a RC05 fork and just fix the bottom part with the caliper holders on your original fork right side. If you can't use the present caliper holder position with the smaller disk, you may also have to do that for your second fork tube. If caliper piston diameters are equal, you could also keep your original disk and caliper and only modify the right fork side and get another master cylinder (in case piston diameter is different).
Hope this helps a bit to see your options.
