Picked this up, garaged in CT a couple months ago. Cleaned/rebuilt carbs. Dropped the back 2 inches with Shorty shocks. Had a nice orange/red tank when I got it, but didnt care for the three different colors going on with the bike.
Rattled a few things flat black and installed the shorty shocks.
Bought this seat off a guy in the neighborhood for $20.
And this is what is should look like after I get it mounted.
Next up is to bob the back fender and switch to smaller, aftermarket tail and indicators.

Nice bike. Looks mostly clean and stock, I think the mufflers maybe after market though.

Looking good so far. You can slide the rear fender forward & down so you don't have to buy a new one. Try changing the bars to a motor cross/drag style, really changes the look of the bike. I found them way more comfortable too. They're cheap too, around $20 in JC Whitney. Mine is the one listed '82 cb650 bobber

Yes, things develop. Looks like someone spend some time on getting that rear brake and rims shiny like hell...
The space between rear wheel and frame/fender is all right for a hard tail but looks too low if this spring is as weak as it looks like. Road bumps may become really dangerous like that
Not clear to see, but make sure to keep the clutch cable away from the header.

Thanks for the feedback. The bars are definitely on the list of work to be done. I haven't had any issues with the clearance yet (and riding in NYC isn't very forgiving).

It looks like you have new shocks on the rear, I wouldn't worry about bottoming out. I have had problems with the center stand scraping when leaned over too far. Just something to think about. Mine is coming off after I replace my rear tire & chain.

Believe it or not, there's not an ounce of rust. The guy had it garaged and barely rode it.

Nice bike! I liked the original paint job but that is your preference! Flat black looks good on anything as well. Where did you get the rear shocks? Looks good with the tail lowered.
So...when will your bike be finished? Umm, never. It is an old bike, there's always gonna be something to do!
