I had a little free time at work today so I figured I'd do a little work on my bike while it's here. These are original side covers. I was going to try to match the paint, but after a fruitless search, I decided on flat black. If you ask me, it's not bad for a rattle can and about 30 minutes worth of work.
My tank will take a lot more work; I have to bang a dent out of the right side. Then it's on to the engine.

Pretty good. I'm impressed. How did you manage to paint the inside of the letters and numbers?
Is the above comment is complete idiotic or ignorant please attribute it to the alchohol.

The third pic shows the tape job that I did to cover what I didn't want white; after that I just sprayed a couple of coats, let it dry and peeled the tape off.

Quick and effective!
Hope it lasts for a while. Did you prepare the surface somehow?

I sanded most of the roughness out. Other than that, just wiped it clean.
