Just picked up my first street bike today. 1982 cb650s. It currently doesn't run but with a few long knuckle busting nights I think I can get it running with the help of this forum of course! Here is a quick over view of the bike, it was snowing when I picked it up. I am looking to make a few modifications to it also. Any thoughts on what to do to make this bike really stand out? More pictures to come when I get it home!

Welcome here! :D
Looks good! Not many miles I guess?
Tank cap is not stock. Seat belt and chain guard are missing.
But nothing to worry as long as you have both side covers.

Wow. Perfect I never would have known that! Thanks Volker_P. Do you know where a good place to get parts? And the bike only has 17,000 miles on it. And I know there is a "problems" section on the forum but maybe you could give me a good Idea on my starter problem... When I turn the key i get a buzzing sound and if I pull the clutch in it clicks a few times and then nothing? Does that mean I need a new battery? or whats the trick?

If it just clicks, that's probably the battery. Try with a car battery and a jumper cable.

Buzzing sound is not good. Sounds like starter clutch. This means the starter spins without turning the engine. Remove the starter and check if the starter turns freely. Then have a look inside the hole in the engine. There should be a sprocket that turns easily but only in one direction. Make sure it still has all its teeth. If you can turn it in both directions easily (e.g. with a screwdriver) the starter clutch is slipping.

For an only 17000miles bike, I would first try to get it started otherwise (e.g. rolling downhill) and have a look if the starter clutch will just work again after the engine really heated up. Good chance it just works from then on.
