Hello Guys and Gals,
I just purchased my first vintage bike and I wanted to show it off and see if you will welcome me to this forum.
I have been around bikes all my life and im excited for the opportunity to play with some of the vintage models. I first started on dirt bikes when i was in my teens then stepped it up to crotch rockets in my twenties... by my late twenties I was moving more to the cruiser scene where i currently dwell.
I have a Yamaha V-Star cruiser now that i use for long hauls and i just purchased a 1981 CB650 Custom so i can play around with it and hopefully get it to run and look cool on it.

Welcome here!
Although some parts arond the airbox are missing and pictures are a bit blurred, this bike does not look too bad.
No doubt you get it running when you played round with bikes all your life. All quite standard stuff, no Diva. If everything is there and works more or less reasonably, it will just run fine.
Have fun!

Re: Just purchased 81 cb650 custom
Yes nice start. I'm curious on where the bike started out. The red rear turns are not the usual. Atleast for the US.
Did you clean the tank out?!?!?!?!
Re: Just purchased 81 cb650 custom
Here are some more progress pictures. I got home from work last night and decided to start taking some things apart
Oh and to be honest i have no idea what the history on the bike is...
