Re: 82 cb650
Had to run when I posted this this morning so there wasn't much of a description of the work done.
As I mentioned, this was a barn find. It was dropped off to me in a few pieces. Tank and side covers were a bad flat black. Bike didn't run of course.
With the help of some of our members, I rebuilt the carbs, twice, and secured some needed parts. Fork seals were replaced as well as all fluids. Rear fender chopped with cat eye tail light and small turn signals. Chain guard chopped and painted black. Wheels painted black. Chrome carb trim painted black. Tank and side covers repainted. Painted rear brake hub, Swingarm, blah blah blah.
Replaced front signals and headlight ears with smaller/sexier items. Hacked the mufflers off and installed reverse cone mufflers. Wrapped the headers. Lower bars, bar end mirrors. New 2.5 in gauges. No idiot lights.
Fun bike now. Sounds great too. A bit fat on the top end. The carb rebuild kits had 120 mains. The bike came with 110s. I think I'll put the 110s back in and see how it runs. I'm at almost 4000 feet here.
Thanks to Wingman, Volker and others who provided advice and parts.
Gentlemanjim has inspired me to try a different tank and seat.

Re: 82 cb650
Nice. The 82 I bought last year had 110 in it and runs good. At 5k ft here.
Did good on a trip to kansas too.

Re: 82 cb650
Where did you get the smaller signals from? Looks great by the way.

Caferace.com but everyone sells the same ones. Speedmotoco.com is a good source for stuff as well as Dime City. I have used all three with great results.
