I just bought a 1981 cb650,the ignitors are bad,I found this site and saw the
article on the chevy convert.Is there anything a chevy isn't good for,lol.

pic of bike,it is complete,4 into 4 pipes/mufflers,seat and all.Previous owner took off.

That there be a 80. No big deal but there are a few diffs.
Did you clean the tank out?!?!?!?!

I as told it was an 81,I bought it with a bill of sale.Marc,if you like the mudflap,it is yours,unless you are like me and like being sarcastic.

The plate on the neck will show the build date, and year model. It does certainly look like an 80 though. The carbs are wrong to be an 81, they are the 79 & 80 style, so if the bike really is an 81, it has an older engine on it.

single disk on front is a 80 also for the custom. Like I said no biggie but youll need to know when ordering "some" parts.

I also vote for 1980. Parts may differ in tricky details, so be aware.

yup,looked at the neck,it is an 80,what is the diff in the motors fom 80-81?

Just the head and the carbs. Also in 81 the front went dual disks so most of all that is diff.
Did you clean the tank out?!?!?!?!

Dual disks in 81? Is that just for the custom? I have a 82 that had a single disk. I think mine is just a cb650.

Yes, the US dual disk models are 1981 and 1982 Custom only. Different disks of course.
However all European bikes are dual disk. Even more different disks of course. :?

FYI Again there is no 82 custom it is the nitehawk. But yes all standards stayed with single disk.
