Time to fit the new taillight. A bit of trimming and glassing required, then wet sanding...and wet sanding...
The Mix n Match lights are all smd led and the outer part is an E-marked reflex that is required over here. This way I can scrap the rectangular reflex (that I don't have any space for anyway).

Well with the red primer she looks like a baboon in heat.
Tomorrow I'll throw on some black paint and hopefully everything is back to normal. :D

Your bike looks really nice! How did you manage to fit the acewell speedo? Complicated job? Any video of the finished product/fonctionnality?

Keep us posted :)

The speedo is mounted in a predrilled headlight housing from Carpy. I had to glass the housing slightly to make the speedo fit nicely.
I ended up using an analog to digital converter that mounts in the stock speedo sender in the front wheel.
The electrical part was pretty straight forward.

I'm going to make a small movie but right now I'm involved in a couple of projects that require my full attention.

I got mine from a swedish distributor. It's actually the only part on my bike that I have bought from here.
I was going to buy it from dimecitycycles when I stumbled upon this local site. Saved me a lot on shipping.

Thanks, I am going to pick one up.

I doing my carbs now, and I managed to polish them with a steel brush pretty well. I was wondering if I needed to coat the polished carbs with something to protect the metal?

Also, did you use a grease for your carbs?

Thanks

On my polished parts I used Glisten PC from Por15. It's a two component clearcoat that can be brushed on. I left the bodies uncoated.

I used a dab of light motor oil on the axles that goes through the carb bodies but I think wd40 or 5-56 would work just fine. Some lubricans clog up in contact with petrol and you don't want that in your jets.

Hi sorry to bother you. I posted something under the technical question section, but got no reply :(

So I hope you dont mind if I post it on here and I was hoping you can help me out.

"So to make a long story short....

I was cleaning my carbs and a misplaced my washer and o'Ring for my Pilot screw jet.

I was wondering if they are really necessary or can i get away with just replacing the o'ring or the washer?

Also, does the valve seat have a washer or a o'ring for the valve ?

Thanks guys"

Thanks any reply will be appreciated .

The washer and oring is important I accidentally flipped the order on one of my carbs and it didn't run right.
If I remember it right you put the spring on the screw, then the washer followed by the oring and seat it gently then turn it out the desired amount of turns.

Thanks again. You save me so much time.

Well i guess I have to get the washers, and the o'rings. While I am at it, I might as well get new jets since i have the air filters now. I think I've asked you this before, but what size are your jets that you use with the air pods?

Thanks

My jets are 120 main jets and 42 slow jets. Neddle clip in middle(original) position. Idle screw I have no idea about. Think I started with 1 1/2 turn out then tweaked them.

Ok, after a lot of searching, I cant seem to find them online for the year my bike was made in. I have a 1979 honda cb650. You think it would work with my carbs? they seem to look identical to your from the outside.

Could someone also point me to where i can purchase these jets?

Thanks for your help guys, I appreciate every help I can get.

Thanks
