81 CB650c (slo-mo cafe style build)
Hi, great forum you,ve got here. Tons of good info. thanks for sharing.
This is my first street bike. I built a kikker Hardknock but it sits in the garage(so I can wrench some). I bought her back in june with 23k on the clock, fresh inspection, and seemingly in good running order for $900. With the intent to cafe it.
So far its really been the best money I've ever spent. I ride every day hasnt given me a lick of trouble. Shes plenty fast for me. I liked the bike when I 1st saw it, I love it now.
I've got clubmens and an emgo fairing to put on so far, I'll post pics as I progress. Heres a pic of what it came like, thou it wasnt as shiny(I added the bag too).

ver1.1
I had to file the pins off the handle bar controls and reroute the cables to get the clubmens on. It took longer than I expected.
The fairing needed a bottom support, but that was easy.
I need to sort the turns out yet. Mickey moused on there for now so I could ride it. I'm thinking they will end up under the fairing.
Also some sort of spacer to keep the other bar end mirror from pinching the throttle grip.
Fiberglass seat with round tail light in the works plug is nearly done.

What did u do with the old one?
Did you clean the tank out?!?!?!?!
Re: 81 CB650c (slo-mo cafe style build)
Cool...I like. Would you say it wouldn't fit over the stock turn signals? I see you moved yours up to the bars.

Re: 81 CB650c (slo-mo cafe style build)
It might be a lil too wide. If you used another spacer the stock signal location will likely work. I think it would cover part of the signal if you didnt extend it some.
My signals wont fit there because of the bars. I need to make some plates to move the signals forward a bit to clear cables mostly. But I'm sick so thats for another day.
edit: also I dont think my headlight assembly is stock. How much different the signal mounts are I dont know.
The old sheild I thought I'd put on my Hardknock.

Welcome here!
Nice bike in good shape.
Yes, these are not the stock headlight and turn signal mounts. These parts are removed from your fork. You may have a look at other pictures in "show it off" to get an idea.
You may be interested to have a look how Ibsen played around with his (different) fairing until he found the key : viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9

Hello,
Any chance you still have the backrest? If so, I would be interested in it. Thanks, Eric.

I'm having a custom hand formed alloy manx style tank built for my bike. Been wanting to get one of these for the last year finally happening and I'm diggin it. this is the top half, he is starting the bottom this weekend. Then a 7 step polishing to give it a smooth mirror shine. Hoping to order a new cafe style seat very soon aswell.

Re: 81 CB650c (slo-mo cafe style build)
I ordered this seat for it today. Not exactlly like the one pictured on the bike. The one I ordered will cover more of the top of the side covers. I wanted to stick with a stock pan. So I can switch out to the 2-up seat and back rest when my wife wants to ride. Its coming together nicely I think.
I was considering wrapping the side covers and fairing in chrome vinyl to try matching the tank. Now I think I'm going to just add white pin stripping to the fairing, to match the seat. Side covers I think gloss black with chrome Honda wings.

Any picture of this seat on your bike? I've been thinking of ordering it too for my project and would have liked to see how it fits,
how's your project since last time?
