1980 Cb650c The beginning of something new?

Hey Guys. Here is my 1980 Honda CB650 custom that i picked up just before winter. I'm trying to figure out if i want to put clubs on or clip on's on my bike for starters ( which I'd rather have the bars) but the 1980 models had the forks raised. Which makes me think how wired it will look at first. I want to lower the forks but don't know which way to go about it.
1. Buy standard 1980 model fork tubes and switch. ( don't know if it will work)
2. Lower the forks having the forks sticking out.

Looks really good!
1980 standard forks are 2" shorter and should just fit.
