I saw your post a while back and that's when I decided to use similar pegs to you.

I like the idea of bike modification, because now it looks more good and also attractive.... well what your experience bout this oldie? Because I like this bike but never rode ever in life. but its my wish to own this bike once. Thanks
Re: 1979 CB650z - going to change this into a Cafe Racer
That's... absolutely brilliant. So much black, with the right amount of chrome. Did you powder coat the engine?
Re: 1979 CB650z - going to change this into a Cafe Racer
I had to give my engine a thin second coat yesterday, so I had no time to install the xenon kit. I will post photos & comments when I have that done tonight...hopefully.
Regarding the engine coating, No,it's normal engine spray in a can. Hopefully this cheaper way will not come and bite me on the a$$.
This is the HID Xenon kit for motorcycle I bought for R300 (+- $R30)

Re: 1979 CB650z - going to change this into a Cafe Racer
Ok bike is now 99.9% complete.
Fitted the xenon light last night and I can honestly say that it makes a huge difference. The only problem I had was to take the petrol tank off and fit the unit under it. in the middle in the frame above where the timing chain cover goes. Hopefully the heat won't be to much of a problem.
Here is another photo I took today.

So last Saturday was perfect weather for a ride, so I joined some guys I know and went for a ride.
Bike performed & handled beautifully on the mountain pass.
Here's a shot a friend took of me.

Yes good looking bike.

I love the picture! That's what it's all about, riding and enjoying the bike.

Your foot is the first and often the only thing to be hit by the bike or something on or next to the road in most cases. Although you won't die from that I think it is even more important than a helmet.

Re: 1979 CB650z - going to change this into a Cafe Racer
So I am looking at doing something similar to my 1981 cb650. This may be a stupid question but did you have to tear apart the whole engine to use the engine spray paint or do you just tape off the parts you want to leave chrome and only paint the parts that are visible?
BTW, love the bike, looks awesome!
