Re: frankinbobber
Looking good indeed! I think if I like how my cafe racer project with the '79 goes well I'll be looking into making a bobber out of an '80-84; I wanted to do a bobber first off but the idea of carrying a passenger overruled. Gonna put apehangers on it?

Re: frankinbobber
found some clubman style z bars but i think i like them upside down right now but i'll have to finish the seat before i make the final call. I'll post new pics this afternoon. I haven't checked the timing yet that should happen today. I'm still waiting on my peanut tank also.

Re: frankinbobber
I've never been very successful with carb work but i found a shop that will do full rebuild and sync. for 75.00 per carb. does that sound about right?
Re: frankinbobber
75 per carb would end up 300. Sounds way hi unless your carbs are real bad. Some one on sohc4 does it for 100 a set I believe.
Did you clean the tank out?!?!?!?!

Re: frankinbobber
got the exhaust mocked up on the right side. the new clutch lever put on the new bars and cut down the spark plug wires
Re: frankinbobber
$75 per carb seems a restoration prize for bad and otherwise unavailable carbs.
Some here bought complete runners for $300.
So including parts it might be a correct price but nevertheless one could look for cheaper options.
Most important thing is cleaning out the tank anyway.
