While its apart take a small file to all the flashing points on the outside of the cyls. Will help airflow and keep crap from plugin up the passages. Takes some work but they clean up nice.

Glad to see that you weathered the storm in good shape.

Make sure that you wash those parts well. Any left over soda residue from blasting will cause a reaction with the oil on startup. Possibly causing more damage.

I would want to but I believe its not available here or somebody provides that kind of service.

yeah. i lived in about a couple hundred miles off the typhoons path. its was windy during the wake of the typhoon but nothing compared to our central region that was badly hit though. really really devastating.

I am happy that you have not been involved to the extent that your neighbors were in that horrible storm. That is something the Pacific was always kindof dicey with, typhoons. Part of the animal, I am afraid. My prayers to your countrymen and family.

thanks for the thoughts and prayers. and dont' feel sorry for being away for awhile we have our own things to tend. I hope you are already in great shape. I see you are back to fixing your bike again. I am following your rebuild as well. Please post more pics.

I am on my way to the powdercoating to get parts with fresh paint. I will take the chassis the last.

another update. I know I am taking a slow progress. I am still working on my frame on what I want to do with it. I dont know if I should go for powdercoating the case. The jugs and head may or may not get a VHT can spray paints. Thoughts?

Hey Bob! Good to hear from you! I will ask if they have that kind of coat. Afaik, they have for outdoor and indoor grade coating, saw rough and wood finish samples too.

after a long hiatus, i am back. been busy with life and stuff and now here i am.

i will be sending this engine off to powdercoating and will be seeing it hopefully by next week. all mounting holes has been plugged by sacrificial bolts and all else by gasket paper.

Powercoating will mean a lot of additional heat load for the engine.
Remember this is an airhead engine and the fins all over the case and oil pan and whatever are not just for decoration.
