Thanks it took a lot of work, it's my first motorcycle and the first time I've ever worked on a motorcycle. I've learned a lot from wrenching on it and have even started working on bike #2 also an '81 CB650C.

Simple1 thanks, I bought a used tank and side covers on ebay, but now that you mention it I should get a quote to see how much the tank would cost to get repainted. Overall the total for the partial restore was $1997, the bike was $850 (price included in overall total.

Tweaked a couple things juggled a couple of wires and she now starts but dies out when I let off the choke. Looks like I have some carb cleaning to do...
