New to forum and the cb650
Hi all I have recently purchased a 1978/9 cb650 as my first bike, but it does need a little work apparently the starter clutch is playing up and it needs a good coat of paint. have been told its been modified to 750cc capacity and other work done but unsure of work. was also used as a Queensland police bike in Australia.

Re: New to forum and the cb650
Cheers!
I will post pics soon have been having trouble with the up load.
Volker it has the RG03 prefix but in Australia the Police vehicles were a standard vehicle purchased from the dealer or given to the police by the manufacturer for testing to try and sell a contract. But they were modified by either the dealer or local manufacturer especially during the 60's, 70's and 80's for example some police cars were Australian made v8 coupes with blue printed v8's that were bored, increased compression, port work and cammed, also had suspension work done. I am under the impression that this cb650 was tried out by the police as they had a fleet of sohc cb750 Honda's but they were updated to the dohc cb750 instead. I am still researching to verify its history.

Re: New to forum and the cb650
Sounds great; hope you get the upload issue solved....is it complete? Minus the siren and red/blue lights?
Re: New to forum and the cb650
it is mostly there is missing the tail light but will make something to suit also a couple of other small items but are on order from cms, no lights or sirens on it. it does have aftermarket mufflers 2 into 1 on each side. i am looking forward to have it together soon with fresh paint and start riding it.
Re: New to forum and the cb650
does anyone have a good supplier for a starter clutch its very well had it! i cant get one in Australia as these bikes are very rare and Honda over here doesn't recognize the cb650. any help would be greatly appreciated. also will consider buying second hand parts in good working order and obviously pay postage.
Re: New to forum and the cb650
Hello:
I have other customers in Your Location and have some parts for your bike as well.
Members this forum are parting out bikes also.
We have a supply of good used parts here in the states.
I have seen on Ebay new police bike parts from a supplier near you (asia) that bought up a bunch of new parts from police bike inventory.
I will get back to you with that ID.
Are you on Ebay?
Good Luck!
PM me if you want more help, but I will get you the ebay ID for the new parts. They were reasonable price also I think.
