New member with a 81 cb650

Postby Jonathan403 » Mon Dec 30, 2013 1:05 pm

Good day all!

I just want to say hi and show off my latest purchase, my 1981 cb650. The previous owner had done some minor changes that I liked and the deal was hard to pass up on. I'm coming off rebuilding and learning motorcycles from a 1984 vf500 which i was originally got to rob some parts for the son's go kart, but once I rode it for the first time I was hooked.

Currently I'm planning a bit of a cafe build on this bike assuming time (and funds) permit. Look forward to some insight when i start cracking into this bike.

Welcome here! :D

Looks really good. Interesting exhaust.
Hope this is not still the original 1981 front tire.

Thanks guys!

- Those tires are old (2002) and they are on my list to get swapped out before the season starts.

- The taillight is an interesting one and I'm currently looking to swap it out with a more factory looking one.

- Not too many changes planned but just maintenance first before all. new chain, sprockets and brakes, and of course tires are the first priority. And check up on a slight oil leak coming from the left side of the valve cover.
