Hi All- I am new to the forum, I have my mind set on building a bike from the ground up, I want to do a cafe racer, I never built a bike before but I have owned a few.
I have a 1980 CB650 frame and swing arm, I am on a budget tighter than a camels bum in a sand storm so I am hoping to make a hybrid that is based on a CB650 but may also include parts from other bikes.
I can't find a 650 four engine on my said camel budget but I do have a CB500 twin from a Honda Hornet I think it is lying around, will this slot in my frame?
I am collecting bits and bobs as I go, I have rear shocks on order from the USA, a cafe racer seat on its way, I only have a CB750k tank so will make use of that if I can, I have front forks from a kawasaki so hope they fit, I do have two comstar wheels, my head light is off a CB250.
so I will be asking many questions on hear and will post pics ASAP
Dave

Welcome here!
Here are some comments/examples of 750 tanks on 650 frames:

"Hornet" is a 600 four cylinder water cooled engine, at least for European naming.
A CB 500 twin would be a water cooled engine, too. Possible, but some more complications.
But no idea if the big DOHC head still would fit into the frame.
