jet needle position?

Postby petev123456789 » Thu Aug 14, 2014 9:25 am

Hi all. To change the jet needle clip position on the 80 cb650c do I need to split the carbs? It is the PD50b mech slide carb. I know you do to shim them with a washer but I am a little intimidated and don't want to crack them unnecessarily. Thanks a bunch

If you have adjustable needles in the PD carbs. They are aftermarket needles from a rebuilt kit. Stock needles are not adjustable.

That said.
You remove the top covers, and loosen the shaft lock screws on the lift arm.
Rotate the lift the arm to disengauge the lift arm from the slide.
You can then lift the slide out of the carb.
Remove the the screws that hold the lift plate on top of the slide.
Once the lift plate is moved out of the way. You can pull the needles up out of the slides.
