Bought Another Bike Tonight.

Postby FordMan » Fri Sep 05, 2014 11:19 pm

Its not a CB650 or even a Honda, I bought a Suzuki GS850L with carb problems, and an ugly Kawasaki Windjammer, Trunk, & Hard Bags.

How this relates to a CB650 honda is that once i Hard tail My CB650 this winter, i am debating the idea of using the Hard side bags for my crazy Bagger-ish Idea I posted about earlier.

Not to excited about a shaft drive bike, but I plan to restore it a bit, and flip it in the spring, i wont get into my plans for it since this isnt a GS forum, but just wanted to share my new purchase

obviously just an opinion, I'm sure there's tons of people out there that love the low maintenance and not throwing chain grease all of your bike...But it feels wrong, looks unnatural..and there ugly. I like being able too change gear ratios and then then they say it's power robbing.. I've only had two shaft driven bikes and they've both felt under powered..

I actually just bought a xv535 that's shaft driven as a project..It's now up and running... And I've only put about 18 miles on it.. I hate it... If It wasn't shaft driven I think i'd actually keep it..

My old Nighthawk was shaft drive and I loved it.
Not only for the easy maintenance but it's smoothness. There no chain slap and is quieter.
