I'm going to wrap it. I thought there were products that remove bluing??
My plan it to put a small cherry bomb on it. Anyone have a good DIY for a restrictor/baffle?
Re: Scored a 4 to 1 for $60
There is a product that removes bluing, i cant think of the name but i can picture the jar in my head.
Before u wrap your pipes, search google and read about the pros and cons if u havent already, some say it hurts the head, some say it has zero effect. Just educate yourself in the issue before u do it, just so u can know what can possibly happen, or what wont happen.
I personally do not know a DIY for a restrictor/baffle. I have heard of people cutting off the factory baffle and removing the packing then reinstalling the stock baffle for a bit louder noise.

Naval Jelly should take off the bluing.

About rapping the exhaust pipes, the only thing i'm certain of is it speeds up the exhaust way through the pipes due to the rised temp in the pipes. Weather it's good or bad for the engine head i dont know though.

The viscosity of gases rises with (the square root of the Kelvin) temperature.
So I won't expect exhaust gases getting faster in a wrapped exhaust.

What I have read is two opinions, wrapping them hurts the heads and valves, since the heat stays high with the wrap on, and that it does increase exhaust velocity.
I have also read experiences people have had no damage long term to the engine. Yet they stated they had issues with heat stress cracks in the pipes.
Heard plenty of people rave about the loss of heat on themselves tho lol.
I will probably be wrapping mine due to some custom mods to a cb750 aftermarket exhaust, cut, welded and shoe horned on and made to fit lol
