Re: Frames???
What exactly are u looking for? if u wanna hardtail ur 650, Voodoo Vintage out of Austin, TX makes a kit specific to the 650, and there are many universal hardtail kits.
Also if u can find one, a company called Amen used to make chopper frames, like the savior, that were made specifically for 750's and lots of other stuff but it can be hard or expensive to find at times.
what is it u want?

Re: Frames???
Think he wants a frame that will be direct bolt on for the 650 motor, The cb550 is the only one that won't require mods.

Not exactly Pbiggs, i said without to much modification, that is because i have no means to weld.
"What exactly are u looking for? if u wanna hardtail...", excuse me but what does that mean?
Please dont use letters for words someone may not understand the use of letters instead of words.
Not all of us are from the states, i guess, so more proper language is desirable.
What i'm looking for is a frame that is a bit more stable than the cb 650 frame that can take the engine without to much modification. As i stated i have no means to weld. But of course it would be nice to know of any frame that have space enough for the CB 650 engine.

Re: Frames???
There are a few 500/550's with 650's in them. Depends what you want.
Did you clean the tank out?!?!?!?!
Re: Frames???
Is the 500/550 frame more stable and rigid than the 650 frame? What i was thinking of is to get a frame that is more stable and rigid than the 650 frame is. But is it so that i must weld if i find another frame than a Honda frame? In that case i must think it over very well and find someone that can weld for me.
Any input here is greatly appreciated though.
I do like the CB650 engine alot and i was thinking if i could use it in an frame from maybe another maker. But as i said i have no means to weld and that may overthrow my plans completely

Not sure what you meant by using letters for words, but a Hardtail is generally a chopper style frame that is void of rear suspension, besides a seat with springs. (Very popular american style of motorcycle, which may not suit you.)
Like this: (this one uses a harley engine but there are hardtails with honda engines as well) http://image.streetchopperweb.com/f/186 ... t_view.jpg
If thats not what you are looking for, You could find a welder like you mentioned, and have them reinforce the frame with gussets in key places to stop any flex you think the frame may have.

Re: Frames???
Well i do know what hardtail is though.
It looks like the engine from a CB650 wont fit in that frame though. But if i wanted to do a hardtail what frame could i use where the CB650 engine have space enough to fit? And must i use a welder to weld some engine mounts? Or is there a way to mod engine mounts so a CB650 engine fits?
What I really want to know is, what motorcycle frames can be fitted with a CB650 engine? And do i need to weld or is it possible to mod engine mounts without welding on those frames?
U = you, write you instead of using the letter U some of us may not understand that way of writing. As english is'nt my main language it only looks silly to me when someone writes the word you as U. Please!!

I didnt mean that frame specifically........ u can add a hardtail onto an existing cb650 frame, but as far as a straight forward transplant to another frame.... i doubt it would be welding free.
U do know a frame is supposed to have some flex right?
anyways, we obviously havent helped u find what u are looking for, good luck in your search, and when u do find a frame that works, share it with us. I am sure this would be great info for everyone to have thanks!

Yes, I guess you look for a frame that allows for better high speed riding. Not something that makes rideability even worse.
And if you find that frame, your next issue will probaly be brakes.
Try a search for Buber tuning...

Re: Frames???
Well what i actually wanted to know is more like this:
If i for an example use a HD frame, how much work would it take to fit the CB 650 engine on that frame? Or could i use a Triumph frame and how much work would that take? Or wich any else frame could be used to fit the CB 650 engine in? Preferably as i said without any use of a welder.
My new approach will be to measure the engine and try to find out what frames that exist that have the space enough to house a CB 650 engine.

Any V-Twin Harley frame would probably need extensive work, for the exhaust and other stuff.
I am not familiar with triumphs at all so im out on that one. haha.
I just purchased a hardtail for my 650 frame from voodoovintage.com and i also seen they have full frames, and some list what model bikes and engines will swap up, i do know that my 650 engine has the same mounts as a 76 cb750, because i used the same engine stand mount my friend used on his 76 cb750, so 750 stuff or frames might be the option, also check here http://www.cyclexchange.net/frame__end.htm

Re: Frames???
That was good news at least And a good thing for me is if i can use a frame that is more than 30 years old as i there is no need for paying any tax for it in my country.
