new member, new bike

Hey guys my names Dennis, just thought I would say hi and check this place out. I'm picking up a 1979 cb650 today, gotta drive 2 and a half hours for it but the guy only wants 150 bucks so I figured I better not let it pass. Anyways, I will probably be lurking around for a while. Have a good one!

Thanks, I got the bike running, the carbs were in pretty rough shape but the #2 cylinder isn't firing, even sprayed a little carb cleaner thru the carb and got nothing. The coils are working so I am gonna pull the plugs and see if that one is sparking, I'm hoping its a spark issue and not a compression issue haha, do you know if there is a special tool to reach those plugs? None of my sockets with fit in the #2 or #3 spots, I'm assuming your supposed to use the one that came in the tool kit? This bike didn't come with a tool kit so I may have to get creative.

Pretty common problem they're a few different ways to do this, I've had multiple sockets from the spare box end up working.

You can find one on ebay every once in a while for a good deal.

or search the forums there's quite a few post about this.

I got it squared away, we had had an old Suzuki at the shop that still had the tool kit in it, so I used that and popped them all out.
