84 night hawk seat

Postby rogueleader » Wed Jul 29, 2015 2:39 pm

So I have an 84 nighthawk 650, it's a great bike and I love it, my only issue is that im only 5' 4". So only my toes touch the ground and when I'm stopped I have to lean. So I was wondering if anyone knew of any good affordable seat options that would get me at least an inch lower. I like the Corbin gunfighter, and dual saddle seats, and they would do the trick, I'm just not looking to spend 400 bucks. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

I've heard you can lightly sand the foam on your seat to lower your position. When the seats are injection molded there is a stiff outer layer formed. Removing this should soften the foam, then just recover with an ebay seat cover.

The other thing you might be able to do is soften your rear suspension to make the bike sag more. It isn't meant to be a height adjustment but people seem to use it as one.

If you can manage to mount the seat pan directly on the frame and remove the hinge you could get a bit lower too.

You can use shorter shocks and slide the forks up. I wouldnt do that as it hinders cornering. But if your not into fast sweepers it will work.
Did you clean the tank out?!?!?!?!
