Hooray! I get to go to driving school!

Beware everyone:

It may SAY you're going 85, but you're really going 97mph in a 70mph zone. I realized that right before I saw the flashing blue lights in my bar-ends. DAMN! I didn't think the bike could go that fast! (I don't think the cop thought it could go that fast, either  )

Fortunately I get to go to driving school. That means I don't get 10 points on my license (and hopefully means the conviction will be expunged from my record!). And I only have to pay $100 instead of $350.

So, remember..... Reckless driving is still reckless driving, even if your crappy 1980s speed-limited speedo says you're only going 15 over!

At least now you know how to read your speedometer.

Glad you got away with it that cheap. And be careful out there. 8)

A 79 us speedo goes to 115/120 mph depending how you want to read it.

Glad you hear you won't be losing your license. I'll take that as proof that your bike's running better now? I don't enjoy going that fast on mine, but it will do it. Been there, done that and let off as soon as I saw the speedo  For me it qualifies as 'riding beyond my ability'... way beyond my ability.

Good to hear you got the leaner of the penalties.

NO KIDDING! Here I was thinking that it couldn't be done on my bike... Now I gotta find a pace car and I'll be all over the ton! (on a nice straight empty back country road, that is  )

Good to hear you solved your top end power problems. I appreciate your engaged effort to get an official confirmation of success.

Driving school.

Lucky you to have the option of going to school, rather than being slapped with a huge finacial/points penalty. Let us know how things go. I'd be curious how many attendees are grumblers who look at it all as a waste of time.
