In the old 650 site there was a breakdown on all the diffrent models you got across the pond.
Some where 64 hp and others had 50. I'm interested in the cam specs that where listed to compare to what I have here. Can you get these Ibsen?

The cam specs are:

For the 37kw(50hp) version: cam lobe diameter about 33.1mm, parts number pn 14101-426-690.

Our cam in the states is the bigger one. Figured it would be as the bikes here where rated 63
also. Why the smaller cam in some? Also where did you get the specs for the smaller cam?
I think also the 650 cam is the same as a performance 550 cam. Need to get a 550 cam to check its journals and centerlines.

Robert posted the specs for the different cams and I wrote them down because I needed the info when I purchased a spare cam.

The reduced effect had something to do with German rules I believe.

German motorcycle assurance prices in the eighties were quite high. Some dealers even wrote down the insurance price next to the sale price (one year third party insurance alone was about 20% of the new sale price of a motorcycle  ). The step from below and above 50hp was about a factor of two, so almost all manufacturers offered 50hp versions in Germany.
I can confirm the specs given by Ibsen. They are easy to distinguish even without measurement as the 50hp lobes are symmetric while the 63hp are not. I try to attach a picture to show that. However it may vanish after some time:

That is a big diffrance. I'm trying to investigate putting a hipo 550 cam in instead of going through the expence of having a 650 cam reground. On place had a 550 cam with the same lift as the 650 another has about 1 mm more. Wonder what it would gain in hp? Dont want anything radical just little more.
