New member here, in the market for a classic Honda to replace the CB500 I foolishly sold a few years ago.
I've found a CB650 for sale and would love your expert opinions on the bike, the asking price, etc. It is a 1981 CB650 with 13,900 miles and appears to be in good shape (see photos). The current owner says he keeps it in a garage and it starts and runs well. Asking price is $1,700.
Is this a fair price for this bike? Anything in the photos look strange? Anything I should be concerned about with this year or model?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: Looking for advice...
Good looking bike. Seems to be in the right price. Offer 1500 and see what happens. Check the charging. Known to be a problem on most although I have never had a problem on any of mine. Look in the tank and see if it is rusty or a crappy coating job. Tires and chain? If it sat for a long stretch the gaskets might start leaking. It is a 35 year old bike so there will be some things to replace.
Did you clean the tank out?!?!?!?!
Re: Looking for advice...
truly a nice ride fr that price, start at 13 or 14 but be prepared for 17.

Re: Looking for advice...
Just purchased the bike today, looking forward to enjoying it once spring arrives!
Re: Looking for advice...
Welcome here!
Very nice 1981 standard (although side covers say Custom).
Header pipes are still silver, so probably few miles and/or low rpms.
From the pictures it could be a proper price.
Have fun with it.

Re: Looking for advice...
I'm going to leave it basically as-is, with two exceptions - I'll replace the stock handlebar with a lower Euro bar, and I'd like to replace the seat with one like this - does anyone know where this seat can be purchased? I've searched all over the internet and can't find it...
Re: Looking for advice...
It's most likely custom made.
