HondaCB650

Hey guys, wondering if anyone had any info on this hondaline luggage rack i bought 3-4 years ago that i never bothered even taking out of its UPS shipping box until now. I remember it being listed on ebay as being model correct but it doesn't seem to mount like any rack I'm able to search for. Any ideas? Didn't come with a key for the lock unfortunately as well.

hmm now that i look at my email..i guess i bought it a year ago and it just says "luggage rack cb650" as the item title, ebay listing expired.

It doesnt appear to mount like a regular 650. The nitehawk would take a different mounting . I put a regular one on mine but had to change the rear fender to a "normal" one.

Well after downloading every single nighthawk luggage rack and backrest photo I could find I finally came across this:






Which is exactly what I needed to see! I suspected i wouldn't have purchased the wrong item a year ago!

Voilà! I hope the seat can still come off. It's a two piece rack with a locking luggage frame bolted onto the normal rack bars. Gives the rear passenger a little butt support which is nice. Now begins the search for proper attaché and figuring out if I can get a key made for the OEM lock.

In hindsight the mounting seems really obvious but shipping the u bolts on the wrong bracket really threw me off.

good you figured it out. But I think the U bolts on the grab rail look cheezy. Not to mention any damage to it. nitehawk parts are hard enough to find.

agreed, it is pretty ugly and looks a bit "home made." Maybe i'll add a little foam to protect the frame finish.

cant find the link. I swaped out the nitehawk tail lite/fender for a regular one. all bolted together and seat comes off ok. just have to be gentle.
