It still needs a bunch of work. I wouldnt give more than parts bike value. 300 for both maybe.

Running in good condition is one thing. running needing bunch of work is another. I just looked at a "running" bike and wouldnt have trusted it the 3 miles home. But a good runner you could ride cross country. Just depends how bad you want it too.

Around here I'd expect to pay $1000 to $2000 for the pair. This is assuming that there is a fully assembled running bike and a mostly assembled parts bike. If you have the tools and know how to get both running well they'd be worth $1500 each when you're done.(again, in my area)

If you plan to pay people to fix them I doubt they would be worth more than $500 to you. Parts value on them would be $150 for the tanks, $200 for the camshafts, $100 for the 79 carbs, $100 per NOS seat, maybe $300 in electrical.(so a total worth of $800 on both) What you won't be able to sell out of that should be offset by selling other odd parts. You're likely to break even on the $300 profit for the hassle of selling things to cheap bastards like me.

Another way to look at these bikes is the cost to get them running well. Common problems are the carbs needing a rebuild, the brake pads and pistons needing replacement, tires, charging problems, head gasket leaking out the sides, brake fluid being 30 years old. $100-$200 for carb parts (per bike) $150-$300 for a head gasket $100-$200 to get the brakes serviced, $300 for tires.(all parts costs) Then electrical gremlins can make a bike almost worthless pretty quick.

A good running bike that idles nicely and roars to life when you twist the throttle is "worth" $1500-$3000 if it has all the right records of service.(I'd be willing to pay $1000-$1500) The price range is affected by original paint, seat, and exhaust mostly.

If you plan to buy and sell for parts, I would be interested in that 81 gas tank.

Are the bikes still for sale? Would you be willing to sell some of the parts off of the CB650?
