It's alive!
Re: It's alive!
As announced above, I tried to reanimate my CB this weekend. As expected, it did not work that easy, and I even had to recharge my battery one time before it finally got alive. Cylinders still were dry when the battery was down for the first time, this was strange. And maybe I put a bit too much oil in this time, it was smoking heavily quite a while. Nevertheless I did a short turn and it ran great as usual. Good to have it back on the road!

How much oil did you put in?

Oh, maybe a misunderstanding. I did not fill in too much engine oil but I put a bit into the cylinders over winter to prevent corrosion as my garage is extremely wet. And this seemed to be quite a lot from the cloud coming up at least from the left side. But as it was a windy day it was still far away from that what happens when I start my 1958 2-stroke scooter once a year...

Hmm, it looks like we are straight on the way to a smoke cloud picture contest in the show it off section...

on the subject of cold weather starts...
My dad is a crazy fool who will ride his motorcycle all winter as long as the streets have no ice/snow. even in >0F. The coldest I have ever gotten my '84 nighthawk to start was 34F. I always considered it to be a terrible cold weather starter. less than 50F and it's a real struggle to get it started. what about the rest of you?
Re: It's alive!
Cold starting is hard and choke has to stay in long compared to other bikes even at warm weather. This was one reason for me to get a dirtbike for winter. Hey, and greetings to your dad
