Dad's bike might be returned

Postby 79 CB650 » Mon Jun 09, 2008 10:43 pm

Hello everyone.

I have been watching the posts for a while now.

My Dad had a 79 CB650 sold it about 8 yrs ago in a hurry. Wanted to pay for my wedding rehersal dinner.(makes me feel like crap now).

He passed away, almost 2 yrs ago.

I have been trying to track down the guy he sold(pretty much gave away) the bike to. In hopes I could purchase it back.

I found the guy, explained the story, and it seems like she will be coming home this week.

I will post pics as soon as I can. I can't wait to drive her again.

Outside of the circumstances, it would never be my first choice for a bike...But,...It's a dream bike......It's Dad's bike!

Talk to you all soon!

It's Home!

The guy understood totally why I wanted to get the bike back.
Sold it back to me at an OK Price.

It is not as Pristine as my Dad kept it, but I have already cleaned it up and waxed it. All it will need is a little more detail work, in the areas hard to get to. For a Bike that's 30 Years old it is fantastic.

She's Beautiful!

I am trying to get info on how to load some pics.
If anyone can help please shoot a PM.

Thanks all - Have a Great Day!

Congratulations! Looks like a happy ending. :D
For including pictures here, just attach the files to your post. Several graphic formats should be accepted, I only tried out *.jpg so far.

Welcome and great story. I wish I could buy back some of my father's old toys. Like the '67 Stingray he had to sell when they found out I was on the way :(

Finally got a photo small enough to load.

Hope you guys like the bike......I can still picture Dad on it ,showing up at my Grade School Baseball games.
If your Fathers are still with us....Do me a Favor and call Dad...appreciate what you still have!

Have a Great Day!

That's a quite unique look for a CB650. :)
One can see that your dad spent a lot of time and care on this bike.
