Road Trip San Francisco-Vancouver-San Francisco

Everyone,

I am very excited at the prospect of riding my 1982 Honda CB650 from SF to Vancouver and back.
I have one week to make the round trip, and I want to make stops at night somewhere in northern California, Portland, Seattle and Vancouver. I will bring a tent and a sleeping bag.

Any ideas, suggestions, any tips whatsoever will help me a lot in planning my trip!
If someone has done this road trip before or is familiar with the area, please let me know!
I appreciate any sort of information. Especially where to camp, and the best roads for a motorcycle trip.

Good plan, I was thinking about making the same trip in reverse this fall. I would think the I5 woudl be the most direct but also the most boring road, I would definitely try to ride right along the oregon coast as much as possible, it is beautiful there! let me know when you have a route planned, Im starting to plan mine now too!

i've done a few big trips on my 650. make sure you bring your tools, a few spare cables (throttle, clutch) some jb weld, bailing wire and a CAA or AAA card. and a cellphone.

I am thinking on doing all 101 to Vancouver and then 5 for the way back to San Francisco.
About 4-5 days until Vancouver, and 2 for the return trip.
