Center Stand

Postby marke » Wed Oct 10, 2012 12:40 am

I've read that it's much better to use the center stand than the side stand. Is there a trick to getting the bike on the center stand. It's pretty hard to do... I do it when I'm doing maintenance but otherwise it's too much of a hassle to do regularly, am I doing something wrong?

You press the center stand down with your right foot at the lever and pull it upwards with your right hand at the grab bar behind the upper rear shock mount. You may pull it to the rear with your left hand at the handlebars during that.
Just needs a bit of practice.

I can put my bike on the center stand while still sitting on it.
Left foot on stand lever, right foot on ground, right hand to right side grab bar, left hand on handle bar (in straight forward position).

Thanks! It's raining here today so I'll be driving the car, but I'll try that tomorrow!

It takes practice. And having a bigger wheel and longer shocks help.
Did you clean the tank out?!?!?!?!

I struggled with it for awhile, then one day it went up easy. Thats when I realized, "N", I had a good laugh at myself.
