For the CB650C the front forks switched from 1980 to 1981 (axle holder). Also the brake lines seem different, this means the two bottom hoses are longer for 1981 while the upper line to the master cylinder is shorter and has different connectors.
Not sure for the Z-model but a 1979-1981 set seems suspicious. So if lenghts should not fit, don't be surprised too much and give them back.

I was suspicious of that also but dont know what years the Z model changed.
Did you clean the tank out?!?!?!?!

ok a bad news update
the previous owner must of had a right go at the right hand bleed screw as its stripped the thread in the calliper :(
any ideas how to get another bleed screw to sit in,

Heli coil. Youll need a whole kit.
Did you clean the tank out?!?!?!?!

Looks like you need enough material around. Not sure if you have it.
As this seems not to use the original seat, also not sure if the outer thread will get really tight. This might require a special angle drill.
I'd prefer Helicoil, too.

hi all again :D
just wondering if anyone knows if there are any other calipers that fit the European cb650z
just asking as i was thinking of playing around to increase the braking performance
i have done the brake lines,new seals and pistons in caliper

ive had the bike for 4 years and did not check theses once as i thought hey its a 34year old bike maybe they are ment to be spongy and only just stop me :oops: :oops:

You get them working they are more than youll need for street use. My 80 stops very good and even my old 76 360 but I have a 82 nitehawk that sucks on brakes. One of the next projects.

Well, the important surfaces on the piston don't look that bad, at least that's my impression from the pictures.
Really time to clean that out but nothing to worry.

just to let you all no that the old cx 500 brake caliper does indeed fit,no alteration needed it fits right on
one down side is that its nowhere as good looking on the bike,here is a link to one the same as i got to play with
