Also know as chair or more correctly a sidecar. I am noodling around with the idea of taking the new to me CB and bolting on a small sidecar. I have a friend on a local board who works at a shop that specializes in Enfields and Urals with them and he is the past president of the local sidehack owners group so I have an in for info but I wondered if any members here currently run one. I'd just like to see how one would look.
Any and all information is appreciated.
Anyone with a "sidehack"?

Re: Anyone with a "sidehack"?
I picked up a beat sidecar a while back, I've been tucking it further and further back in the shop each time I go in it.
It's one of those Yugoslavian sidecars, forgot the name. Went to their site for more info, there was lots, and not all that I wanted to hear.
According to what I read... Your favorite bike will never handle again,
It'll be even more dangerous to ride,
You'll be going through tires,
And you will have to train yourself how to ride with a sidecar because it is nothing like what you are used to. Basically.
There was a specific section on set up, very important information there for sure. If the initial reading of the product didn't scare me, the set up and the reasoning for each and every Why and what could go wrong explanation did. The real test of if it was attached to motorcycle properly, was if you made it back from the shakedown ride, then it's probably right.
Okay , I could be stretching this a little but, not by much.
I decided That I will go through the sidecar to be sure it's factory safe, if there is such a thing.Paint the whole deal camo, change the seat to OD Green, and plug it onto a Camo 550F that was built for just that occasion.
I don't expect to be driving it much because truthfully, it creeps me out.

Re: Anyone with a "sidehack"?
I met a couple of riders with Urals, both with sidecars. The extra wheel is a drive wheel unlike what I have, I would expect that setup to be far superior but, it's on a Ural.

I love that 550. I picked it out of your initial picture of your collection as my favorite.

Here are two pictures of CB650s with sidecars somewhere from the web. But no further info, sorry.
I think the poor low rpm performance of a CB650 won't be advantageous for this application.

Re: Anyone with a "sidehack"?
Even though I cant imagine the extra weight that red one looks good. Defiantly you need some thing with gobs of low end torque.
Did you clean the tank out?!?!?!?!
Re: Anyone with a "sidehack"?
Another issue is the quite weak fork (which however more or less is true for all bikes of that time).
Note the fork stabilizer at the red one.

In the place of those blinkers (on the link above), I have reflective circles, cat's eyes, and I think that is where it's possible to place them..
