I'm about to order
-clutch and brake levers,
-clutch, throttle (push&pull) and choke cables
- speedo cable
- clutch plates
- clutch springs
- clutch cover gasket
The guy from the shop has all of these for the 650 Z model, year '82 and I have a model from 84. Will these fit? I don't know what would be difference between them (both european models), but he has listed for example 6 clutch springs instead of 4. I don't mind getting 2 extra, but will everything be OK?

Typically, all Z-model (silver) engine parts are completely compatible except the different spaced intakes cylinder heads and maybe the outer valve covers (they also fit but look a bit different and need different bolt type).

The Honda OEM parts number should look like XXX- 426- XXX... or XXX- 460- XXX...

In such case you can be sure it is correct. Nevertheless there were several renumbering actions for parts that are present at different bikes, so other numbers might occur, too. However CB650 SOHC engine parts are quite unique so most basic parts should follow this scheme.

You may verify the correct parts numbers e.g. at: http://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/H ... parts.html

Note that 80/81 throttle cables are different for the dfferent types of carbs.

426 is RC03 (Z-model/US-1979) while 460 is RC05 (Custom/US-Standard)

@cb650: I will, hopefully soon as I need to get it running, then I'll do a photo session. Like it is now, it's kind of a ego thing :)
