as long as the bore and banjo bolt Are the same can i use any master cylinder on my 1979 cb650? I prefer the round master cylinders the 70's cbs had like the 550 for instance, as long as they have a similar bore are they interchangeable? Does anybody have experience with this?
Input is appreciated

Re: master cylinders
Yes, if the bore is the same (or nearly), you can use a different master.
You just need to take into account the angle of the master cylinder (some are sloped to fit different handlebars while keeping the fluid level under the cap), and the levers and brake light switches may change with the master.
It might mean the clutch and brake levers no longer match, if that's important to you.
I'm running a KZ1000 style master on my 650.
You can get BRAND NEW masters on Ebay. I've used several of them and they have never given me any problems.

The round ones cost more:

A search on Ebay revealed this OEM unit, you might want to bid on it:

Re: master cylinders
That last "OEM" one is nice. What did it come on, anyone know?
