Tappet adjuster tool
Tried the tappet adjuster tool today for the first time. It does what it is supposed to, but here are a couple of observations;
The knurled knob at the top attached to the 'screwdriver' bit inside really needs a marking of some kind on the top to use as a reference when holding it in place after the adjustment has been done. Easy to do with a scribe or dot of paint. Then you know you are not changing the adjustment when you tighten the lock-nut up.
The shank of the lock-nut tightener/loosener is really not long enough when adjusting the #2 and #3 tappets. You have to find the best location to give adequate clearance over the high parts of the head to be able to tighten or loosen. It's doable but not as easy as when adjusting #'s 1 and 4.
Using a modified wrench and screwdriver (per earlier posts in this thread) will probably be just as effective.
