Carb help

Postby Josh » Tue Mar 08, 2016 5:35 pm

Ok so i have a 1981 cb650 custom. I ordered a rebuilt kit last week foe the carbs because the bowl seals where leaking and noticed that cylinders 3 and 4 are not getting enough fuel. Well while i was tearing down the carbs I noticed that the new parts and old parts dont match. Not sure if I dont have what I think I have or was sent wrong parts. " reviews from seller on ebay all great"

The new part is a slow jet. The old part is the needle jet holder. Your carbs may have pressed in slow jets. If so, the screw in slow jet you were sent will not replace it. The good news is, if you have pressed in jets, you do not have to remove them. Look down inside the hole the smaller jet came out of and see if the slow jet has a slot for a screw driver. If so, just screw it out and replace it with the new one. If not, it is pressed in. The old needle jet holder can be cleaned and reused.
