CB750 Exhaust fitting

Postby jcasey007 » Wed Apr 13, 2016 1:36 pm

Need to find another 4:1 exhaust, as we know very rare second hand for the 650, Has anyone tried an early CB750 (K7 etc.)? I know the heads (or at least the Unlet) spacing is the same.

thoughts on this?

cheers

Jim

I'm pretty sure the exhaust pipes are a different diameter. Also your engine is too short. They would hang down. I've been looking for the same with less than ideal results. Dime City has a mac for 300 or carpy makes custom ones for 500-700 from what i remember. I've been looking for a 4to1 which isn't stock, but havn't found any options that fit for 4to4 or 4 to 2.

yes your right, I've bitten the bullet and gone for a 4:1 MAC for $278 (+$100 shipping to the UK)

I did find a nice Italian made 4:1 system from MARVING which is about the same price but they only do it in Chrome (and I need it in black). I could have had it coated for an additional £300 ! but not worth it.

So MAC it is, should arrive end of next week

It seems like the original thread has been sorted out and i couldn't find that thread on google or in here. ...So if i have access to a welder and have enough free time I could shorten a cb750 set? You don't happen to know if there ever was 4to1 750? I really just need the part that hooks into the engine and bends around the corner though. Also I have access to a tube bender that does .25" increments. My exhaust are all rust on the top half. Only one area is leaking slightly on #4 where it attaches so far. The headgasket is coming up soon when I find the proper torque wrench and weather lets me work outside 2 weekends in a row. (I went on a ride today because the weather was nice... and by that I mean 10deg Celsius (50 american?)). So exhaust will be dealt with after that.

My problems aren't that bad. I rode the bike 6000k last year. I can see these things really need to be dealt with though. Oil fouled plugs, minor exhaust leak...

Hmm, I'm a little worried about what shipping would cost across the pond to Canada. Thanks for the offer though!
