Hi all,
I've spent a lot to buy tools and supplies to change my rotor and rectifier after my bike kept stranding me with a dead battery.
It's all on the bike now. This morning, with battery at nearly 13 volts, I started it, checking for a dying battery. The battery held at 10.8 while I started. But as I revved to around 5K, it hit only 12.2 volts. This tells me it isn't charging and I dare not ride. Baffling, considering all the parts I've put in.
What else could this be?
New rotor, rectifier — but not charging
Re: New rotor, rectifier — but not charging
Well i had the same problem and other problems turned up so i had to replace the harness and when i had done that the problem was gone.
So in other words the culprit of no charging and the other problems was the electrical harness!
So check that and you may find out.

Riding bikes? I ride where ever i want and whenever i want.

Re: New rotor, rectifier — but not charging
Can anyone recommend where to get a new stator? My bike is a 1979 CB650.

I would recommend to measure resistances etc. before trying out further expensive parts.
