Thankfully it broke at a point where I was able to pull it out easily. Will stop by an Ace tomorrow morning to take a look. I will be in touch, you have been a life saver with this learning curve

penetrating oil and a few taps on the end with a hammer does the trick most of the time. If not then a little heat on the head.
Did you clean the tank out?!?!?!?!

Dropped a circlip in my crankcase. Fished it out after two days of trying, holy crap. Had to take the head off again! Nearing getting this puppy fired up, need to work out some wiring issues. Using oven cleaner to remove the black paint off the turn signals you sent me, Cb650. Chrome seems pretty intact!

3 months after getting this bike with the top end completely off, I have rebuilt, cleaned, tuned most everything in the engine and the bike fired up for the first time last night. So proud and shout out to everyone who helped, especially Cb650 for hooking it up on some critical parts. Little more work to get this road safe but I am over the moon that all the work paid off. Also, I spent almost two weeks thinking everything was good to go but only backfires here and there. Then I realized the clymer manual lists the firing order wrong. Followed the order for the plugs in the Honda manual and boom problem solved. Go to hell clymer!!

She still ain't pretty but she runs! Throttle is sticking a little and tweaking a couple small exhaust leaks, but overall holding idle well and everything seems to be firing 8)

Back with more questions! So this has been running pretty good, only put a couple dozen miles on it so far and have it sold to a friend, but the first cylinder takes a little to warm up, what would cause that, carb issue potentially when cold? The pipes get scalding hot within minutes, but the first cylinder pipe I can pretty much wrap my hand around with no consequence while it's running. Any insight would be very much appreciated!

Bad spark plug maybe? I've had them do strange things. Pretty much there is a problem with the gas, the spark, amount of air getting in, or compression.

Just sell it as is and get new friends?

I'm thinking you are right on the jet, I opened the top and it had some thick crud, I'd imagine the bowl isn't much better.

haha he's a longtime friend, this is my first fixer upper so I'm selling it to him at cost basically and learning along the way. I will now take the money into this and do it all over again :) I will check the plug as well to see what may be up. Thanks!
