Hey everyone, I recently purchased a 81 CB650C which had a seized engine and no gas tank. I would like to start a build thread on here to share everything I possibly can with you guys. But first I have a quick question: Will a 79 CB650 tank fit on my 81 CB650C?
I will soon get around to posting pictures. I have already removed the engine and started tearing it down.
- Thanks everyone

So here is a picture from when I bought it:
And here it is in its current state:
I just put the seat and shocks on to get an idea of how the bike is coming along. This is obviously going to be a brat/cafe build.

Next, I started trying to get the engine apart so I could see what was causing it to be seized:
As you can see the piston closest in the picture was surely the cause of the problem. And here is what the cylinder for that piston looked like:
The piston rings are also pinched tight in their grooves:

I don't know the answer to your question but is that how you're leaving seat? Cringes at the hump. Lol. I'm sure it'll come along nicely though. Good luck.

Hahaha! At least I can say it would be unique if I left the seat like that wouldn't it?
