Won't stay running

Postby rparks3 » Mon Sep 12, 2016 7:07 pm

I took my carbs off and cleaned them. Bike has been seating up and carbs were extremely dirty from old gas. Reinstalled carbs. Put a new battery in also. Started on choke, but died soon off choke. Will restart only on choke. Does the 2 " air lines" off 1&2 and 3&4 carbs vacuum line. Any suggestions what I need to do. Thanks.....

The "t's" should all connect together eventual and go to the airbox. Or vent somewhere. but it sounds like your idle jets are clogged. Did you remove them while cleaning?

I think the tops are different, but everything else is essentially the same, or at the very least "materially similar."

No. The 79 carbs are completely different.
